Cataclysm 0.4.1 - Changes, Fixes and Cleanup


0.4.1 is finally out - this one contains tons and tons of bugfixes, small performance improvements, new models, some backend changes, a new movement system, and a new loadout system.

  Quality of Life and Visual Improvements

Texture Quality Improvements - The quality of some textures has been improved 8x to give a much nicer look to certain things.

Bow Improvements - The Bow has been given a massive touch-up, with new animations and sounds to make it feel alot more responsive and realistic.


Model Changes - Tons of models have been give entirely new looks, as the old ones were very outdated.

Movement Rework - The movement system is now much different, it has more inertia to it (and also prevents you from phasing through walls). Stairs can also be moved up much easier.

Audio Manager - The Audio Manager system has been added to improve some audio aspects, such as being able to layer multiple sounds coming from the same source.

Inventory Rework - The Inventory has been completely overhauled on the backend, using a much better system than before. In-game, the change shouldn't be noticeable much at all.


Loadout Rework - Now, instead of a simple checkbox, you can choose between multiple loadout options depending on how you want to play.

Spread Changes - Spread works differently to before, with overall and individual spread. Overall spread is just like how spread worked before - but individual spread effects each bullet differently, such as in the Shotgun and Flak Gun. This has a small effect on combat. Spread is also in a circle, rather than a square.

  Bug Fixes

Other players' weapons can be seen again.

You no longer jitter around while in a boat.

  Other Changes

Credits are now scrollable, and there is now a section for more in-depth audio credits.
